Advent Opportunities – Help out your civic group’s efforts.

Let’s strengthen the efforts of our neighbors!  Civic groups play a huge role in our community and we are grateful for the relationship many at liberti have had with them, let’s do even better.  The East Kensington Neighbors Association is having their regular clean up 10 am Saturday Dec. 3rd meeting at Leotah’s place (Coral & York St).  If you have questions connect with Randall Hinton.  If you know about any other opportunities to serve with neighborhood groups, contact Pastor Joe.

Advent Opportunities – Write a letter

*There will be a series of posts with opportunities to serve this Advent.

A couple weeks ago children from liberti church drew christmas cards for those who are imprisoned for their faith.  You can also send an encouraging note through this website to those imprisoned for their faith in Jesus.  It will provide all the contact information you need and some helpful translations.  This is a great way to serve.

help us party for halloween

Last year we had a ton of folks come out, we want to make this year even better, we will even put an advertisement in the local paper.  So put your party hats on and help us welcome tons of families from the neighborhood on a night everyone hits the streets.   We will brainstorm crafts, games and decorations to transform our space for halloween this year.  Come with all your ideas, or just come to sign up to help.  October 16th between the 9 and 11am services, in the church office.

Care Team member’s needed!

Have you ever wondered what exactly the Care Team does?  Or thought you might want to get involved but didn’t know how it worked?  We thought you might, so on August 7th after the service their will be a short meeting to talk about these things.  If you have a desire to help others, and want to get some training in how you can do that right here in our church then stick around after the service or talk to Betsy Walsh about becoming involved in the Care Team.

This Summer Week of Service is July 11th-16th

Our goal is to get everyone in our community involved in two service projects for the week of service July 11th-16th.  We have 9 home meetings each working 2 projects each, as they begin to finalize their plans we will post them up here, on our week of service page so that if you are just getting plugged into our home meetings, or would just like to find a way to jump into our week of service you can.

What will this summer’s week of service look like? We are dreaming of 18 projects ranging from cleaning lots, hosting block parties, and summer kids clubs, volunteering at various organizations that work in our community, to bringing meals to those in need in our church, visiting folks to followup with our Easter Outreach, and helping each other out in unfinished projects in our home.  Let us find ways to ‘serve one another in love.” Galations 5:13.   We need your ideas! Connect with your home meeting for more information.
